May 16 We got up bright and early for our first day on the beach. After some coffee out on the balcony, my mom thought it'd be fun to walk out to the pier. Seemed like a good idea, so down we went! It was still early and it would just be a quick walk, so who needs sunscreen, right? Not us! Well, as it turns out, "the pier" was actually about four miles away. But on we went! Four miles feels like a lot more when you're walking on sand. Along the way we came across several massive fish heads like this one. My guess is that fishermen caught them and lobbed off the heads, leaving them in the dirt. I also took our beach walk as an opportunity to shoot a few mildly entertaining Vine videos. Oh, technology. Yes, we all got crazy burned straight out of the gate, but hey, that's what it's all about! Right? A brief recovery, and we were back on the beach for the rest of the afternoon. For dinner we hit our mainstay, Lambert's, where they throw rolls at you and the servings are sized for four. Great place! Very country, but not in an annoying way.
