Full Moon Rising at Sunset
I love the colors, the moon sitting on the horizon, and the blue fading to pink sky which is the shadow of the earth.
But more than that, this picture is unique. It was taken 21 minutes after the full moon and three minutes after moonrise. The sunset is is behind the camera at 104 degrees and the moon is at 283 degrees. So the sun and moon are 179 degrees apart - almost directly opposite.
And best yet, I was standing there looking at it.
I remember the song lyric “we many never pass this way again”. Yup.
