Peacock Butterfly (Aglais io)
While in Sweden I was lucky enough to travel out to the archipelago west of Göteborg to the island of Vrångö. I walked the entire perimeter of the island, and my favorite observations were my first Red-backed Shrike hunting in an agricultural field, and this Peacock Butterfly nearby. It is in perfect health, perfect position, and perfect lighting. The iridescent blue was a dead giveaway to find the butterfly, but I guess butterflies aren't really known for their camouflage abilities. Moths on the other hand...
