% Arabica Cafe
Is this where you can get the World's best coffee? Some people are saying that and so far the best coffee I've ever tried has come from here. What makes it so good? One the coffee is roasted on site the same day. Two the owner of the cafe owns a coffee plantation in Hawaii, although they also import other quality beans. Three the owner employed the world champion latte artist to be their head barista. Four they use "Slayer" espresso machines considered the best there is, handcrafted in the USA. Attention to detail at every step of the way to give you the best coffee experience.
It all began with this store in Higashiyama near the Yasaka Pagoda, what a location for a cafe! But then they opened the second Kyoto store in Arashiyama with view of the river, the mountains and the Togetsukyo (moon crossing bridge). Now they have a third Kyoto store in the fashionable Fuji Daimaru department store in the downtown with easy access by train or subway.
And while the espresso based drinks are fantastic, I'll give you a little tip as an experienced customer: Do yourself a favor and try one of their pour over coffees and if you want to really lash out, order the "Geisha" (which is made with their own Hawaiian plantation beans).
If you live in Kyoto get some beans to take home with you, always freshly roasted. The freshest beans I've found anywhere in Kyoto.
Note film shot: Fujicolor Superia Premium 400. This was on the last role of film I shot with my Canon Prima AF-7 (a point and shot film camera) before it broke (I bought it brand new in 1995).
Converted to Sepia in DxO Optics Pro.
