First Baptist Church in Downtown Dallas
June 29, 2017
The First Baptist Church in downtown Dallas is a wonderfully diverse architectural beauty The metallic dome that has a "sheen" on the exterior that reminds me of the sheen of iridescent colors on the wings of the ever-present downtown dwellers: the pigeons.
The dome is complimented by the modernist glass building in front. And the proverbial "cherry on top" is the front courtyard that features a large water-scape. The dancing fountains vary their movements, and complement the conical tower where water flood down its sides with a pulsing rhythm. Atop the tower is a beautiful cross. This is an oasis in the middle of downtown that is lovely and so worthy of a visit.
