Port Victoria, taken from the end of the jetty and looking North showing some of the houses of this small township, which is situation on the Western side of York Peninsula, approx 2 hours drive from Adelaide. It is one of the many peaceful small towns which are abundant along the York Peninsula coastline. The York Peninsula itself is a major farming area for South Australia. During the settlement period of the State, Port Victoria was one of the largest ports shipping wheat and other produce by long ships all around the world. Port Victoria has a unique museum showing the history of the area but especially the history of sailing to the area, including the ship wrecks.
