Multiples Birthday Party Info
These are a couple questions I've had from parents regarding birthday parties involving the triplets. Either when we have a party or when they are being invited.
1. Is it ok to invite just one of the triplets?
I had a parent call me and ask me this, which was very nice of her to do. I told her it was fine. The boys are all very different and have different friends and they have some of the same friends too. I always say it is up to the child having the party. It is their special day to do what they want and spend that time with who they want to. Yes, my guys might be a little sad about it, but they will get over it. We have 5 boys and even if our oldest goes to a party, the rest of the gang is bummed for a short time. That is just how it goes. Same situation for play dates. But man it would be great if someone invited all my kids!!!!! I actually have a mom that has done that a couple times during the summer. It's fantastic!
2. Should we bring a gift for each one or is it ok for them to share a gift?
For the second question, one gift for them all to share (since they are used to sharing) or one small gift for each one. My kids love the dollar section at walmart and have discovered their new favorite place, the Dollar Tree! No more than $5 spent on each child. And you can get a ton of stuff for $15 at the Dollar Tree. Another option would be to make a homemade gift. We love homemade gifts!
I could say, please no gifts, but at the same time my kids go to a ton of parties and we give gifts every time. So if they are giving gifts every time, but then not getting anything on THEIR special day, it's not really fair is it?
Another issue is if they are all invited to a party, should they all bring a gift? Same thing applies, either one big gift or 3 small gifts.
That's my two cents on the subject. What are your thoughts?
