The seasons change much quicker in the north than they do in the south. The landscape begins to yellow before August has even reached it's end, with leaves beginning to fall shortly after. It's a beautiful spectacle though, the change of seasons in the sparsely populated region. So many different species change color; from the mosses and lichens along the ground, the low lying shrubs, and what few deciduous trees there are. It's brilliant, but oh so brief.
