The swans are long gone from our frozen rivers, lakes, and ponds
I'm dreaming of the time, weeks away I am afraid, when there will once again be open water on the river for the swans, both the ones who nest here and the ones just passing through.

Unlike my previous posts that were heavily processed, to say the least, this one received minimal treatment after passing through Lightroom. I realize the 'crop', which cropped off the top of the swan's head, won't be to everyone's taste. It is the way it was captured, i.e. nothing left on 'the cutting room floor'. The lens was at about maximum zoom, and the swan was moving around. I'm guessing I had to choose to take it as is, or lose the lovely light and shadows altogether.
