“Blessed are they who hold lively conversations with the helplessly mute, for they shall be called dentists.” ~ Ann Landers
The hometown of blues musician Riley "B.B." King has guitars popping up around its city. It’s part of the Indianola Harmony Project, says Jennifer Carithers, executive director of Indianola’s chamber of commerce. Businesses will sponsor the guitars, which will be decorated, named and placed in front of their locations, making a collective art exhibit. “We’ve already got 12 (businesses) who have asked for it, so we’re very excited about that,” says Carithers, who expects between 20 - 25 guitars to sprout up around Indianola. The first will be at the Sunflower County Building, co-sponsored by the chamber, Indianola Main Street, the Economic Development Foundation and the Extension Service.
