"Panamint Mountains Sunset"
December 2010, Death Valley, California
I was in Death Valley hiking the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes when I witnessed this incredible sunset. I had my gear set up well in advance hoping for good color at sundown. I watched with eager anticipation as the sky slowly began to turn various shades of pink and red. My anticipation turned to utter astonishment as the whole sky seemingly caught fire about 15 minutes after the sun dipped below the Panamint Mountains in the background. I'm so glad that God is not color blind.
