"Highway 95 Crossing Colorado River"
September 2012, Southern Utah
Southern Utah is well known for its amazing assortment of national parks. It seems like the moment you leave one park you enter straight into another. Less well known is the fact that Southern Utah also lays claim to three of the United States premier highways. Highways 12, 24 and 95 are the types of roads that fashion memories for a lifetime. They all probe deep into the Utah wilderness, mesmerizing drivers with undulating curves and unmatched scenery.
This particular image shows Highway 95 as it passes over the mighty Colorado river. I spent about 45 minutes on scene shooting the location. During that time I saw only three cars including the one in the picture. I love my home state of California, but I would move to Southern Utah in a heartbeat given the opportunity.
