12.02.13 - Lights, Camera, Action.....

This is a re-working of an image from a photo walk I led back when we had snow on the ground recently. The arch is called Priorygate, with Lincoln Cathedral to the right. My friend Mark is standing by the arch getting some spectacular shots with a fish eye lens. It is a 6 second exposure to capture the traffic streaming through the arch, and I have applied the "monday morning" filter in color efex pro to create a slight glow and near monochrome.
08.02.13 - Bus Lane

This is a shot from Thursday evening, on my way to my guided photo walk in town, but I only processed most of them yesterday. I like doing these when there is a bit of light still left in the sky, but the original intention was to get the traffic streaking to both sides of me. However, I really liked how this turned out with the standing traffic to the left and the warp drive bus on the right. In an ideal world I'd have removed the light post in the centre of the shot, it is a pain being there, but you can't have everything :)

Thanks for the wonderful humouress comments on my shot of Willis sniffing my running shoes yesterday!
13.12.12 - The White Flash

It was a really busy day, no chance for much photography. I took this quickly on my walk home because I knew I might not have a daily if I didn't. I saw the bus coming, quickly set the camera for 3 seconds, placed in on a railing and just hit the shutter as the bus drove past. It isn't my best traffic streaks shot, but it is the best I had for my Daily :)
27.11.12 - Curve Ball

I've been laid low with the flu for a few days, but I had to go into town yesterday and this is when I was headed back home. As usual in these cases I used a flat top railing to rest the camera on, and this shows a bus making the turn across the traffic lights. The church on the left has elements going back over a thousand years to Saxon times, and there is even a Roman gravestone incorporated into the front wall.
It seemed unlikely that the viewpoints I first had in mind would be possible in these conditions. I could only see a couple of blocks in all directions. I resigned myself to doing some research with the plan to have a really successful morning, if the fog had receded. Then, I realized I was near one of the viewpoints I’d researched and decided to check it out.

I arrived on top of the Queen’s Quay Parking Garage, with a view of the Gardiner Expressway, Rogers Centre and the CN Tower. On this night the CN Tower was just a stem, disappearing into the clouds, but, the my the fog has suddenly become my alley...
