Delivery of firewood to Kalynove-Popasna village
Kalynove Popasna is a small village on the contact line in Popasna district. Since the conflict began half of its residents fled due to the hostilities and lack of employment. Currently 21 households remained in it, mostly elderly. Now it is relatively quiet. However, people feel isolated here. This village does not have any shop, school, healthcare facility. The nearest civilisation is Popasna town, 10 km away.
Apart from that, the village does not have gas supply, and the villagers should find alternative fuel to heat their houses. Being isolated and with minimum income, they cannot afford costly solid fuel.
The second year NRC helps the villagers to survive during severe winter season. Every family received 6 cub. m of firewood, which will be enough to keep their house warm in winter time.
