If one looked carefully, there were a few other kinds of cactus growing in the yard besides saguaro, cholla, ocotillo, prickly pear, and the large fishhook barrel cactus. One was a small cactus that grew in clusters. It resembled a Mammillaria, and was covered in a network of intersecting fine needles, and further protected by projecting longer, thicker fishhook shaped spines.
