Oak Alley Plantation
Three hundred years ago some unknown person planted two rows of oak trees leading away from the Mississippi River in Louisiana. Later someone else came along and built the plantation house. Now Oak Alley Plantation is one of the most picturesque plantation along the Mississippi.
Stars over the Black Rock
Time Lapse of the stars in Gerlach, NV - Black Rock Desert
Mesquite Dunes near Stove Pipe Wells - Death Valley
I really like the similarity of patterns in the photograph. The patterns in the sand are like the dunes, which are like the foot hills, which are like the mountains. Fractals in nature. The yellow patch beyond the dunes is a bunch of wild flowers that goes for miles. Death Valley can be amazing in the spring.
Tug under the Gate
Just as the sun sets a tugboat makes it way out under the Golden Gate Bridge.
Glacier Point – Yosemite
Iconic Half Dome dominates this panoramic taken from Glacier Point in the famous Yosemite National Park. You can also see how granite the vast landscape of the Yosemite backcountry and how the landscape has been formed over the centuries.
Lower Yosemite Falls
This is a classic shot of the lower Yosemite Falls taken from the bride. The power of this falls is felt by the mist, wind and sound that is created as the water cascades off this final ledge as it enters Yosemite Valley. There is enough force to push mist and wind down to where I am composing the shot, enough to make me have to wipe down the lens between shots.
Miller Lake
This is a small lake that sits off of the Rubicon Trail west of Lake Tahoe. I love all the small alpine lakes that are throughout the Sierra. It is nice that there is always enough of them so you can find some piece and quite by one.
