Security Preparations on Lebanese Border in Israel
Misgav Am, Israel. 21st February, 2018. Kibbutz Misgav Am, with a population of about 300, situated in the Upper Galilee near the Lebanese border, is surrounded by a security fence, bunkers, fortified trenches, underground bomb shelters and residents prepared to react to any emergency. Diplomacy efforts to resolve tensions between Israel and Lebanon underway with the mediation of the U.S. State Department’s Satterfield. Current disputes over Israeli construction of a border wall, Lebanon’s start of gas exploration at sea and the growing arsenal of Iran backed Hezbollah have caused this spike in tensions.
