The village of Sarangkot sits atop a hill at 1,600 meters (roughly one mile) above sea level, and overlooks, to the north, the Annapurna mountain range, shown here shortly after sunrise. The most prominent of these mountains is Annapurna I (center), which at 8,091 meters (26,545 feet) high, is the 10th highest mountain on Earth. Not visible in this picture is the lovely city of Pokhara, Nepal's second largest city, which was behind and below me as I took this shot.
