BR English Electric Deltic type Co-Co diesel no. D9003 at Grantham during what was probably its maiden journey in 1961. Of note is that there is not yet a yellow warning panel on the nose and the name Meld< has yet to be applied. Withdrawal was less than 20 years after 6his shot was taken and December 1980 puts D9003 amongst the firsdt tranche of disposals of this much admired class of locomotive.
