Lower Latourell Fall, and My Fall.
A Fall is a place where water falls and where people sometimes fall too. This is looking down to the base of the lower fall from a trail. I was injured here in May 2011 when I fainted shortly after taking this photo. I rolled down the embankment and landed in the icy cold creek, narrowly missing the boulder in the lower right. I still haven't fully recovered. The upper section of the Fall is much higher than this. It is here: www.flickr.com/photos/dennisdean/10618513594/in/photostream/ This is one of a series of waterfalls in the Columbia Gorge, East of Portland, Oregon. The Gorge is formed by the Columbia River carving its way through the Cascade Mountain range. Water from the Winter rains and snow melt up on Mt Hood comes tumbling down the mountain into the Columbia River on its way to the Pacific. Previously posted as a color photo. Dennis Dean
