I thought I'd add this photo as it affected so much of the eastern Sierra and Owens Valley during my time there...While driving back to Los Angeles on Highway 395, I saw this south of the road to Lake Isabella. The photo can't convey the awesomeness of the scene. And it looked like it was burning fiercely, and would rage for days. This was part of the reason why the Owens Valley was so smoky, and the Sierra literally "disappeared" for days.
