Thrill Of The Hunt
Much like the game bird, chukar (chukker, chuker, chukor), the wild California Poppy tends to make capture painful; almost always taking root in ravines or steep hillsides. A lot of the time, it lives in a windy environment, bobbing and weaving like it is laughing at the number of photographers who risk life and limb to take its portrait. And then there are relatively easy places to capture poppies like the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve; but, what's the challenge there? That would be like walking into the store and buying chukar.
