Even in drought years there are spots of wildflowers in the Texas Hill Country. I spotted this patch on the Easter Hill Country Tour a few years ago. There was a lot of brown that year, so this little spot of blue was a welcome sight.
2/7/13~ Texas' Colorful Wildflowers!

Even if you've never been to Texas, you've probably heard of our wildflowers! Every spring, they poke their little heads up, and blanket the fields and hillsides with every color under the rainbow. Texas is especially famous for it's Bluebonnets, a type of lupine, but we also have indian paintbrush, poppies, and other colorful plants.

Thank you all so much for the kind words on my Virgin river shot!
