Rod Macleod YOUNG DRIVER the dominant thing in this picture is the car, not the child – soft lighting means no harsh, heavy shadows, which of course is a good thing – unfortunately, the plane of focus is not on the child, so he’s rather fuzzy – good skin tones and his eyes are to die for! – by B Grade I expect more, particularly control of your focus. NOT ACCEPTED
Barry Quayle YOUNG GULL I wish you could pick the bird up and position him in profile, rather than head on! – he would then take up more of the frame and appear larger – the water in the background is almost too dark, but the bird stands out well against it – lots of detail, even in the lightest parts of the bird – and this one is sharp. ACCEPTED
