Here is cover for my upcoming children’s story titled Layla’s Magical Book. It is about a young western girl who travels to the orient and encounters many wonderful but strange things!
Also, this book is set to be one of the first of its kind. I always liked those “choose your own adventure” novels when I was a kid. Consider this the next step. You will be able to take approximately 15 photographs of your kid and send them to me along with your kid’s name and YOUR KID WILL BE IN THE ADVENTURE! Exciting!
In the meantime, you can follow the instructions below to get your kid posted into this picture. All you have to do is email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the picture and name. And within two weeks, hanging above your child’s bed—or wherever—will be this amazing picture with him/her in it.
Step 1: Standing about 3 meters away at a quarter angle, take a picture of your child with a 50mm lens (that's a 35mm in DX format...like a Canon Rebel or a Nikon D3200) sitting down on a table or a stool pretending to read a book.
Any camera will do!...But obviously, the better, the better.
PS: If you want absolute best results, then take the picture of your child against an solid colored wall that is a differnet color from your kids clothes (like a green screen, it's just that it doesn't have to be green, it can be whatever color).
Step 2: Email it to me. Then I will delete everything around your child to produce this:
Step 3: I "photoshop" your child into the picture below and print out an amazing limited edition print in the size and on the material of your choosing. And you and your child will have a treasured piece of art to cherish the rest of your lives.
For those of you out there still reading and waiting for the technical explanation. Yes--everything in here is a photograph. The background scene was shot in Kyoto, Japan. The wildlife was shot in their native habitat. Then I combined them all. I created the photo so your eye naturally gets drawn to the bottom left by making the girl the object that sticks out the most because (a) pink stands out against green (b) she's vibrantly colored (c) the shrubbery on the bottom right is dead space, forcing you to look left and (d) the sun rays and the bridge lead you to her. From the girl, your eye then naturally goes to the bridge, leading you into a background filled with all sorts of wonderful animals and mysteries.
