SmugMug > popular > Journalism > 7.28.08 Another image from the Polo fields. Played under lights on dirt and grass mixture. The one rider told me the Darlington Polo Gronds is the oldest polo field still in use in the United States. Wow! In my backyard. It must be one of the best kept secrets. :-) I converted it to B&W to give it an older look to illustrate the age of the field.
SmugMug > popular > Journalism > Sorry it's been a bit since I've posted. Here's another image from the IT Olympics at my office. Someone forgot to tell these 2 that tricycles work best on 3 wheels instead of 2! This was the tricycle race where contestants won with the fastest time around the course. There were several heats with the final 4 competed for the gold, silver and bronze medals.

SmugMug > popular > Journalism > My first attempt at shooting a polo match. I have other images in my polo gallery from the shoot. It was a lot of fun. The dust was very thick making it difficult at times to obtain a sharp image. The sun was going down fast and my later shots are not as sharp. Darlington Polo Grounds in Darlington, PA
SmugMug > popular > Journalism > June 7, 08 Boss 90+ pounds and still growing. Until my daughter and her husband bought boss, I never knew a Rottweiler could be so much fun. Big dog that rules! [and still growing]
Every time we visit, it reminds me of this 'joke'.
A man breaks into a house and hears some noises in the dark part of the room.
'Jesus is watching you.'
'Who said that'
'Me'
'Who is me?'
'Over here, my name is Moses.'
The robber looks to the side of the room and sees a parakeet.
'You are only a parakeet!'
'Yes, my name is Moses!'
The robber replies, 'Who would name their parakeet Moses?'
The parakeet replies, 'The same owner that would name their rottweiler Jesus.'

I laugh everytime I think of the joke. But then I think, God help the person that would attempt to harm my daughter. Boss is like her shadow. 'Me and my shadow!' :-)
SmugMug > popular > Journalism > Hopewell High School Class of 2008. My nephew's graduation. The photographer in the lower right is the 'official' photographer. It was a beautiful night for a graduation. High 80's with a slight breeze. Wishing all the graduates the best for life!
SmugMug > popular > Journalism > My first shot from the Pittsburgh Airshow 2008. I took this during their practice runs. The weather was poor [off and on rain] and the sky very gray. I added the frame to give it some impact. I have a gallery of other images and hopefully the weather clears up some today.

SmugMug > popular > Journalism > Those of you who read the comments in the DailyPhotos will appreciate this one, but in order to do so, you have to look at the other photo that I also posted today.

I was randomly taking photos of things around Kennywood Park and just wanted to capture some nice shots with my 70-300 of the coasters. As I walked by the wooden coaster, I waited just a minute and snapped about 4 pictures of the train of cars (see other picture). About 30 minutes later, I was walking by the steel coaster, Phantom's Revenge and snapped 2 pictures of it as it went by. We were on our way to see a show so I was hustling along and took the shots and proceeded onto the show.

Later that night when I imported the pictures and was reviewing them I couldn't believe what I saw. I managed to get the same 2 people in the front car on both coasters. I have no idea who they are, but I'm sure they would love to have these pictures if only there was a way to find them.

I bet if I tried to do that with someone I knew it wouldn't have turned out as well. Such is the life of photography, right?
