SmugMug > popular > Journalism > 7.13.08 From a youth event I shot over the weekend. The group "The Last Epic" played for the youth. I applied a B&W preset in Lightroom to come up with this effect. The light was very challenging and I timed the shot when the lights passed on the right side of the guitarist to create this dimensional shot.
SmugMug > popular > Journalism > I asked this graduate [while at my nephew's graduation ceremony] if I could take his picture. He said "sure"... after I snapped it I told him I would put it on the Internet for all to see. His response; "I'm holding you to it." Thanks for being a 'sport' and here is to wishing you the best in life!
SmugMug > popular > Journalism > 8.5.08 Yes, many folks hid under metal steps during the lightning storm. This is the image mentioned in yesterday's post. :-)
SmugMug > popular > Journalism > June 6, 2008. Bella, the little puppy from yesterday's picture. Isn't she cute? Hi! I am a Yorkie Poo.
SmugMug > popular > Journalism > "With this ring I give you my love and fidelity." It will be thirty years in October [08] that I declared those words to my lovely bride. {and I kept my promise :-] } I found this image on my HD and forgot I took it. Nearly thirty years and this ring is still a strong symbol of love. :-] Although the ring is tattered and worn, our love grows stronger each day.
SmugMug > popular > Journalism > June 21, 2008 I was searching through old images on my HD and found this image. It is the side of an old garage I saw in my travels. I enhanced the image in Lightroom [2.0] to bring out the contrast and detail.
SmugMug > popular > Journalism > This is one of a few designs I put together for my sister. In honor of what she accomplished... Walking 60 miles in three days... wow! I am proud of her!!! The final day (16+ miles) was done in a "monsoon" like storm. Congrats to all the walkers that braved the elements and kept on walking!
SmugMug > popular > Journalism > hOw rUde! I hope this is taken in context. This is a small sample of the trash we find on our property. We live "in the country" and own approximately 4 acres of great land. However, people have "trashed" the property and will go out of their way to drive off the main road to dump "their" trash. The earth is a beautiful place, why do people trash it?
SmugMug > popular > Journalism > June 23, 2008. This is another image I had on my HD but I recently "played" with the look in Lightroom 2.0. I converted it to B & W and adjusted the edges of the photo to put the emphasis on the center to emulate the look of a 'spot' light.
I asked this graduate [while at my nephew's graduation ceremony] if I could take his picture. He said "sure"... after I snapped it I told him I would put it on the Internet for all to see. His response; "I'm holding you to it." Thanks for being a 'sport' and here is to wishing you the best in life!
