SmugMug > popular > Other > 08-08-08 Daily Photo. Day 156. Is this little pier cool or what? I don't want to say where it is exactly since I think it is sort of underground so to speak. I took a bunch of shots of this makeshift pier and birdhouses and either the rocks were visible or the skyline was clear. Couldn't get both.

SmugMug > popular > Other > 08/02/08 a new chapter- on the left, you will probably recognize my beloved grandson, connor (one of my beloved grandsons)- on the right is trista, who along with her sister victoria and their mother, rene (cathy's niece) have come to live with us- they had lived with their mother and grandmother, vickie (cathy's sister)- vickie was killed by her nephew- http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2008/jul/19/womans-nephew-charged-in-slaying/ vickie leaves a son, stevie, who died ten years ago, and two daughters and six grandchildren and two sisters- we are blessed to have renee and her two daughters with us, but prayers would also be nice-
SmugMug > popular > Other > hydrangea, morning glory and (yuck) fly 07/30/08 couldn't remember where i carefully stashed my sensor cleaners so still crudded up alas. this is a different part of the same bush as the past shots. the morning glories are stangling everything this year. http://dedmanshootn.smugmug.com/gallery/4753036_v9Lqd#302819331_5qKsL http://dedmanshootn.smugmug.com/gallery/4434686_au3Uh/1/303134483_XiLGa#303134483_XiLGa in re the light and composition comments/questions of yesterday: the light was bright but indirect sunlight and then a bit of backlight from a window reflection and everything was natural just as i found it. i upped the contrast and sharpness a nudge when i developed it but it was otherwise out of the camera. the light was more direct tho more diffused today for this one. dropped the contrast a bit so the white was toned down but otherwise as came out of the camera (dust and all sigh). my gas tank is completely dry so i'm off to bed and lookinhg forward to going to work in the morning. have a great day

SmugMug > popular > Other > dogwood blossom blitz 05/21/08 rained all day...YAY...since i wasn't so 'down and out' (finally shaking this dratted cold) i made it down and out in time to catch the last good light this evening and shoot my neighbors beautiful dogwood. its such a beautiful and prolific bloomer this year i definitely have plans to shoot some more
