there are huge baskets of these hanging from many lampposts in fairhaven, which was a seperate settlement over 100 years ago but is part of bellingham now tho retaining its own distinct flavor, where i usually go to the library and do my grocery shopping and i just had to try to capture them, especially after i noticed the beautiful blue 'eyes' inside them. used the flash for fill here as this is the lower side of a basket over three feet across and was shadowed
SmugMug > popular > Other > 3rd May 2008 ~ I have been up since 3am with Daniel teething so I have brainmush But I'll Live thank you All for being so patient with me and letting me catch up on my posts etc I REALLY DO appreciate it Thank you ALL ... Mum and I have been admiring this flower Farm 6 mins from home for ages but we NEVER go and photograph it til today OBVIOUSLY Mum let me use her old camera which she said I could buy of her for a ridiculously LOW price considering it is only 16months old BUT she does have a very flash new one ANYWAY so I thought I would try it out today see how I like it before I commit to buying it cos (single Mum you all know whats its like and we all love a rather expensive hobby) although at the same time as expensive as the equiptment is once you have it and if you look after it you really don't need to buy it again except by choice (thats how I justify spending the money anyway LOL) anyway I better not carry on its not safe writting captions when I have brain mush

this is the view the otherway, shot from the lower stair in my daily -

you can see that when the building was built they dug into the hill and put a retaining wall (on left) to create a "daylight" basement. the otherside of the building (which i live on) the floor of the basement apartments is groundlevel. the slope of my hill is about 1' - 6', not much fun to haul groceries up but good execise

Them's some BIG little dawgs!

I know which breeds are fearsome, and have always been just a bit uncomfortable around the tiny ones. Give me a big dog any day. These guys, however, turned out to be pretty friendly. I loved how the door could open over their heads and they'd never even have to move.

loved that song as a kid, along with 'itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini' and oooh-eee-ah-ah-ah witchdoctor song. long time ago that was now. this is another of the new buses, been in service about two weeks. didn't have the day i wanted to today so didn't even make it out the door alas. shot this while i was out to the library yesterday so "cheating" and using it today. i'm off to bedd to crash abd burn so posting this early. have loved catching some ofthe great things y'all have been shooting. making me wish i were able to be out but too tired to even feel much frustration darn it. Lord willing i'll be back on my pins and stumping along right sharply. have a great day
