SmugMug > popular > Other > my favorite wta bus 06/07/08 many of the wta (whatcom transit authority - whatcom is the county i live in) buses have decorative paint jobs. there are a couple that are particularly special. this is one of them. children from the area were encouraged to submit drawings and then some of these were chosen to be enlarged and used to decorate the coaches. this is my fav as the cat hula dancing in the grass skirt makes me smile and feel a bit more hopeful for this poor benighted world everytime i see it. despite nearing 70,000 population bellingham has retained its 'small town' feel and much of that attitude and has a lot of community projects and contests like this. many of the buses have local schoolkids drawings and also local poets poems inside in addition to the usual ads and admonitions
SmugMug > popular > Other > 5-19-08 My first foray into Epcot. LOOOOVED World Showcase. Oh my gosh, my shutter finger would NOT quit. Italy was one of my favorites to photograph, and this was my favorite shot of the day. I just adored the lighting.

SmugMug > popular > Other > strangled iris 05/28/08 i did laundry today and as its 4 flights of stairs each way once i get down i usually stay down until the laundry's done. i took my camera and shot quite a few things in the laundry room i thought i might use for a dp. will probably post something from them but i went outside while the dryers were running and found this shot i liked best for today
SmugMug > popular > Other > 29April08 Why I never?! Today and yesterday's pictures are of southern red bishop birds, which were hopping around among the aquatic plants at the Durban botanical garden. I think maybe this one was a bit offended by my spying.
SmugMug > popular > Other > depression 06/25/08 i'm not depressed, at least no more than usual ;-), but i decided to try one of those 'concept' type shots to see what i could come up with. talked with a friend on the phone who was feeling down, both of us felt much better after a good visit as friends so often do, so gave it a whirl for my concept

SmugMug > popular > Other > blooming white rose 07/21/08 made it out of my apartment today for the first time in a week other than going to the doc...YAY! just went to the grocery for some much needed supplies and took a few snaps along the way. was only out about an hour and a half but even that really took it out of me, by the time i got my groceries and gear (only aboout 25-30 lbs total) up the stairs home i was puffing like a steam engine and shaky on my pins. still not ready and able, vice versa really, for work. am improving quite a bit tho. thanks again for all the well wishes and good thoughts/prayers. this isn't a weed but i figured what the heck ;-)
