SmugMug > popular > Other > sunny daisy 07/02/08 forgot to wish a happy canada day to all the canadians yesterday, would like to have some excuse but the truth is my memory just slipped a cog. belated happy canada day anyway. there's a huge bunch of these on my way to the bus stop which brighten my day when i see them. don't know what it is about daisies but they always seem happy to me. hope this brightens your day
SmugMug > popular > Other > Thursday 17th July 2008 ~ Mum's Gerbra's are out sorry about the bug but I didn't really notice him til I uploaded then I said to myself "self... you are not going back out there in cold and drizzle on account of a widdle bug" so the bug stays .... Well Daniel is asleep YAY 4 me he has 2 new teeth making him the proud owner of 10 and there mates are on there way thru too on account of these teeth we had to upgrade to a big boy toothbrush he had a baby one which is like a latex glove finger with a brush on it but that of course ment the finger that was in the brush went into the mouth and we all know what happened then now we only argue over who gets to hold the new tooth brush and since I am 5 ft taller and the Mum I win (hey I gotta take wins were I can get them these days he has a strong little personality) Anyway I am not sure how bugs and gerbras became toothbrushes and toddler battles But it did so I will say bye before I get further of track hope you like Mums gerbras as much as me see you t'morra ((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))
SmugMug > popular > Other > going in circles, slowly 07/10/08 that's more or less how my day has been. started off running a bit late and almost missing my bus, progressed through arguing with fedex as to why their driver has tried to deliver a package 3 days in a row before we're open, and posted the failed delivery slip right on our hours of business sign! am i the only one that finds that a bit much?! doing errands after work had a bus break down, rarely happens but can't be helped sometimes, so missed my connection and ended up having to walk over a mile to get to an alternate route. the upside; mt. baker was beautiful with an awesome thunderhead building on its lee side, the breeze not only didn't die (as feared) it picked up so i didn't roast, there were lots of beautiful birds flying about and chirping (tho i had no time to even try a single shot alas), the exercise is certainly good for me, and i shot this sign which summed up my feelings nicely. this is actually a warning sign for a 'roundabout' (why they can't call them 'traffic circles' like everywhere else i've no idea but here in western washington they've been deemed 'roundabouts' so that is what they shall be i guess) and was a welcome sight as it meant i was less than a block from my bus stop and almost on my way home. my day wasn't actually bad just 'roundabout' and slow. hope yours was/is much better. for those interested i caught a couple more buses while out and about as a bonus http://dedmanshootn.smugmug.com/gallery/4855371_JgWrE#329141496_WD72j

SmugMug > popular > Other > Wednesday 21st May 2008 ~ Another Day Another driveway sunset only this is facing a different direction to usual (down the street) Have you ever noticed the sunsets are different in the cooler half of the year to the warmer half i think they are subtler maybe? So obviously I didn't go anywhere today Daniel has me prisoner NO thats not even true I am 5 feet taller than him so I have the advantage of being able to pick him up and dump him in the pram BUT in saying that the mood he jhas been in lately I think twice before long shopping trips or any outing that exceeds an hour (thats how long I can get away with before he gets over being in the pram and wants to argue about not being allowed out to crawl all over the floor) Sleeping has slowly been improving night by night Cling and Whinge - WORSE the only reason I am able to EVEN type this while he is awake is because RAGGS is on and he loves the music on it and the brightly coloured dogs singing it ....Anything for peace :) Anyway I have had my daily vent although I MAY be back later cos I am still a day behind to play catch up (a game I seem to be permenantly playing in all avenues of life lately (((((((HUGS))))))))
SmugMug > popular > Other > 4-19-08 Paul and I went to a tiny little carnival tonight that was set up just for the weekend. Cotton candy, miniature ferris wheels, a fun house...the works. My camera of course came along, and this was one of my favorite shots from the evening. Fun ride. Made poor Paul a little sick, but it was a fun ride. ;-) And yes, the tilt of the camera was deliberate. I took one straight and it just didn't appeal to me, it didn't have the right "oomph." So I tried again and liked the tilt much better. It added a dynamic I liked.
SmugMug > popular > Other > (4-18-08) Okay, I know I already uploaded a photo for today, but as I was sitting at my computer, I chanced to look out the window and see this scene and I rushed out to grab it. The way the moon was hitting the petals on those blossoms of the tree I took this afternoon was just too gorgeous to pass up, and I thought I'd share. Please, be lenient with me, this is a handheld shot at two seconds' shutter speed, so it's not exactly the best clarity in the world, but I didn't have time to set up a tripod, as the moon was about the go behind clouds again. So this is what you get.
