Right outside the Bellagio Conservatory, there are these GORGEOUS chandeliers. And we all know what a sucker I am for a good chandelier. ;-)

I was digging through an old box and found these -- my old ballet pointe shoes. It's been years since I even wore them. It was once my dream to be a ballerina, and this dream did not come true for me but still holds a very precious spot in my heart.

I haven't done a black and white for a daily photo yet, and I thought this really ought to BE black and white...sort of a nostalgic touch, I thought. I did also include a color version of it.

And, in a way, this is dedicated to ARF -- who asked if there was anything I DIDN'T do. ;-) To answer your question, yes. This is one art form that I no longer possess the ability for. I might have once, but it is now only the memory of a dream.

This Chinese parasol was given to me as a birthday gift last year. I just loved the pattern on it, and the colors are beautiful.

SmugMug > popular > Other > Bastille Day Daily Photo. Day 131.

The beach at Fire Island.

A hurricane somewhere near Bermuda caused rough seas yesterday and today and it was overcast most of today as well. Not a beach day. I heard there were rip tides as well and that 3 people died on the Jersey shore from them Saturday night and yesterday. This shot pretty much sums up the atmosphere.

There was a French Tri Color flying yesterday and I thought I would take a photo of it today for Bastille Day, but alas, it was not out today. People put up their flags when they are at their houses, so no flag means they are not on the Island.

Two of my girl friends and I went out to High Tea at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake. It was a little girls-day-out, and it was SO much fun. After tea, we wandered the halls a little bit and I got some shots of this GORGEOUS chandelier. I am such a sucker for chandeliers. ;-) I loved this closeup of the crystals, with the shimmer of the gold. And I like the added touch I got when I put on my star filter.
