SmugMug > popular > Portfolio > 2008.06.05 (Thu) - Another very good day. At work we were treated to a BBQ, we had tables set up outside and we all spent the lunch hour hanging out. No shop talk, it was great. After work I dashed home and we watched Peyton for about an hour, then Robin and I decided to go to Cafè of India for dinner. From there we were going to run over to my parents house to fix Dad's printer but we saw a small car show going on outside of Mels Drive-in and we couldn't pass up the chance to grab some photos. We didn't have the camera so we had to quickly run and grab it. There were some very nice cars there, we spent some time chatting with one of the owners before we had to run off. We grabbed several shots, out of the ones I took I liked this one the best. (After some processing) When we finished shooting the cars, we saw my parents, fixed the printer, hung out a bit, then headed home for the evening. See you tomorrow, -Darron

SmugMug > popular > Portfolio > pictures at "red rocks" (the outdoor apmitheater in morrison, colorado):http://www.redrocksonline.com/index.asp before a date night out. first night out (sans the boys) in months...well more like over a year. this park is minutes from our house and has great lighting, amazing colors and is great for people watching and great views of downtown denver in the distance.
SmugMug > popular > Portfolio > 03-08-08 Mud Sale I live in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. One thing we are known for is our large population of "Old Order Amish" people. Yes, these are the folks who avoid the modern conveniences that most of us enjoy. No cars (only horse drawn buggies), no electricity, no telephones, no buttons or zippers in their clothing. We have about 30,000 Amish neighbors in the county. A friend and I visited a "Mud Sale" today. What is that, you ask? It's a large springtime sale and auction of everything from farm equipment and horses to antiques and quilts. I'll give you a guess why it's calles a Mud Sale (consider the season and probability of certain weather trends). I would estimate that there were more than a thousand Amish folks at this event. I tried to be discreet as I photographed. Photographs of the Amish are considered "graven images" in their view. Just the same, this was a very public event and including them in some shots seemed appropriate and within the bounds of acceptability. Here's one shot of an auctioneer selling goods to an interested crowd. When I do my PS work on these, I'll post a link to the rest. I'm leaving on a business trip tomorrow so it will be a few days from now.

SmugMug > popular > Portfolio > 2008.06.27 (Fri) - Finally a Friday! I was on four wheels again today, met Bobby for lunch at Applebee's, Lunch was good, Bobby is the best friend. After work I returned home and we watched Peyton until Kayla got off work. Peyton is walking everywhere now. We played "two little monkeys, jumpin' on the bed" and we got to laughing so loud, it was great. Later, Robin and I took off to Rancho Cordova for a car show we heard about. I love the summer season, lots of car shows. It was still smokey from all the fires and the lighting was bad so I had to bump the ISO way up and the photos were a bit grainy but still nice. I don't know what kind of car this is but it looks very nice. Until tomorrow, Darron
