SmugMug > popular today > fresh hatch in flight 02/09/10 (for best view largest) this is still from saturday. i sat, i have a great super light and strong portable stool - guess i know what one of my dailies will be soon, while my sis took a walk along the shore. it was exceptionally warm for this time of year, about 55F i think, and there was fresh bug harch everywhere we went. because i was sitting and looking i noticed these cavorting about thirty feet away in the lengthening afternoon sun, had my 500mm on as was trying to get a shot of a harrier orf owl, they were all over but light was too low and cam was malfing dark so don;t think i got any but sure have some beauties in my memory files, so i thought i'd try a shot. this is quite cropped down even with the 500mm but it came out about as well as i could hope for handheld and no glasses for focusing. didn't get out at all today or have much energy for pics or smugmug. did get my 'shrrom pics uploaded and in a gallery finally. link is below for those interested. i did remember to be thankful for a good many things, friends and family leading the list. have a fine day http://dedmanshootn.smugmug.com/Nature/fabulous-fungi/fabulous-funky-fungi/ for previous daily pics click here: http://dedmanshootn.smugmug.com/Daily-pictures/deds/the-daily-picture/

It rained all day today and then tonight we had really heavy rain and lots of lightning...so therefore...no internet time for me!! Will catch up with everyone tomorrow.

SmugMug > popular today > 02-09-2010: like totally, dude.. hey everyone... it's totally tuesday!!! this the "total" button from my friend the burroughs adding machine.. i raised the contrast, but this baby is pretty darn grimy to begin.. i totally could not get a satisfactory shot of the top side.. so, i shot around to the side and got down low... and there she was! (that blurry stuff in the background is the rows of other keys). hey, i just thought... i could use this to teach my kiddos place value, numerically speaking.. y'all have a totally awesome day!! disclaimer - no peeps from the valley were consulted (hi chuck) during the writing of this description... apologies for any butchering of the translation.

With Cross Polarization you get a choice of low key or high key and I chose low key for this shot as I liked the black background. I really liked the colors in this shot. SmugMug > popular today > February 9, 2009 - "Through The Looking Glass" This was shot last Wednesday while on a self-guided tour of the Cà d'Zan in Sarasota, Florida. This was the winter home of the American circus owner, developer and art collector John Ringling and his wife Mable. The hand blown, tinted, and wavy window panes made the beautiful day even more spectacular.
