SmugMug > popular today > May 9 Billboard-type sign of James Dean - - just because! Way out in another area of Podunk Nowhere! Actually, James Dean was killed in a car accident on this Hwy.-west of here by a whole bunch of miles . This sign sits west of Lost Hills; we were on our return trip from the Mojave Desert. A different perspective of this (including one more priceless sign!) in my Contender gallery (Photo time today was spent adding to Mojave Desert gallery)
SmugMug > popular today > We had severe weather this afternoon and tornado sirens were getting a workout. After the rain and storms passed, I went out to shoot a few pictures before sundown. I am trying to keep my streak of not having to shoot indoors intact. There is nothing fancy or complicated about this shot.

SmugMug > popular today > my (dusty) lucky bamboo 05/09/08 couldn't get out today because of continued allergies tho i was happy for everyone else who enjoyed the warm sunny spring day. i tried an indoor shot but hadn't the enrgy to get out and set up the tripod so its not as good as i'd like focuswise but other than that i'm reasonably happy with it
SmugMug > popular today > Day 190 - My Assistant II. Not only does Merlin help when I am setting up to do my POD, he also lends me a paw when I do post processing. Speaking of post processing, I finally uploaded all of the baseball/softball pictures HERE. What an eye opener that whole process was. For one thing I applied the Auto Tone preset to all of them. Some look better, some look worse and some just look different. I set the proof delay to 7 days so if anyone buys a photo I will redo the pp before it goes to print. When I took the team picture, I kind of choked under pressure a bit. I wanted to use my flash for fill but I didn't have it set right. So by dropping the shutter speed down it overexposed the shot. My second mistake was having the back row in the sun and the front row in the shade. It took me more than an hour in phtoshop to fix my blunders but now it looks pretty decent. We learn from our mistakes and I got quite an education these past couple of days.
SmugMug > popular today > Thursady 8th May 2008 ~ I actually took this Friday the 9th BUT I wanted to catch up speaking of which I am TRYING REALLY HARD to catch up with your gallerys BUT you won't even believe me if I tell you ....Cos I nearly can't believe it myself - Daniel Has FLU AGAIN HOW? IS THIS POSSIBLE? obviously it is cos it has happened Rail's foster kids are sick to BUT they have his gastro from last time I THINK it is because it is SOOOOOOOOOOOO COLD here at the moment I DREAD to think of what Winter is going to be like if Autumn is this cold its LOVELY thru the day its just the mornings and nights (only 2/3rds of the time then) that are FREEZING and because Daniel is crawling and always on the floor and we have hard floors which are very cold I think he gets a chill or maybe his immunity is just crap (Can I say that SORRY if I can't I don't want to offend anyone) anyway 6weeks of sick baby is starting to wear me but THANK YOU all for being so patient and supportive of Me and my photos BIG SQUEEZY HUGS FOR U ALL :)
