SmugMug > popular today > November has got to be the worst month for a nature photographer, coming off the heels of September and October. I'm still always on the look-out for color, though. It's out there, sometimes subtle like yesterday's door shot and other times hiding in plain sight, like this. In this image, I especially like the indigo in the middle.
Have a great day!

I took this shot this weekend and am hoping to go back for more before the grapes are harvested, but we may never have sun again...well it seems like that this week. So for now, this is the best shot I got of the muscadine grapes.

There is a winery very close to my house. And, let me tell you, that is a very odd site for rural NC!

Several members of the daily community have suggested that we need a way to communicate outside of specific photo comments, so I created a group on Facebook called:

You can also find me individually on Facebook as Maryann Tia Engel Goldman.

Thank you so much for the comments on my angel shot from yesterday. I am glad you all got a chuckle over my set-up shot. I certainly got a good laugh over some of your responses to it:-)

I did manage to get my pictures framed and then hung last night at the coffee shop. If you want to see how the hanging turned out, the pics are here:

I am pleased with how it turned out. Now, if I can just sell a couple. The pics come down right before Christmas. The way this works is if someone wants to buy one, I can take that one down to sell but need to replace the 'hole' with a new one. Or, just wait until the end of the show to complete the sale.

5AM shift for work today and tomorrow and I have a cold. I work with many people from all over the world, so many are not celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow. Hoping for a calm day anyway especially since I'll be trying to cook a traditional meal with the kids.

HAGD,
Maryann
SmugMug > popular today > Somehow I think Mr. Turkey will be happy when Thanksgiving is over ....

Sorry for another Maeve "portrait" so soon after the jammie shot, but Thursday is going to be waaaaay too busy to attempt photos like this -- so today was the day. (November 24, 2009)

SmugMug > popular today > November 25, 2009 - "Louisville & Nashville Baggage-Express Car"

The maintenace on these cars at the Galveston Railroad Museum must be difficult enough without the 9 feet of sea and sewage water from Hurricane Ike last year.

from http://www.galvestonrrmuseum.com/
"L&N baggage-express car #1205 was built ca. 1914. It is a 4-door heavyweight baggage and mail car. The interior has been remodeled for use as a restaurant kitchen and it is not open to the public. It is painted blue and has yellow lettering."
SmugMug > popular today > Nov 25th - "Prague" - I am sure there is a good reason that I didn't leave a bit more space on the right side of this shot . . . . . but 15yrs pass and I can't seem to remember. Either way, it is still one of my favorites of Prague. Scanned slide, Prague circa '94
SmugMug > popular today > Didn't have time to get out today, so this is one I got the other day. The wind was blowing pretty good that day,so it took me forever to get a halfway decent shot of it!

Wide angle B&W HDR of Patti shooting, storm clouds approaching.
November has got to be the worst month for a nature photographer, coming off the heels of September and October. I'm still always on the look-out for color, though. It's out there, sometimes subtle like yesterday's door shot and other times hiding in plain sight, like this. In this image, I especially like the indigo in the middle.
Have a great day!
