SmugMug > popular today > 4.12.09 - Rhapsody in Sepia I took this at the Christmas Market last night. I'd hoped to go back there this evening, but it has been a very long day and my cracked rib (it's a long story) is giving me some serious grief. So I had a play with the shots from last night instead, and sepia seemed to work on this one. Photos can't convey the true atmosphere of the Christmas Market, the sounds and smells, the pushing and shoving :) Roast chestnuts, wild boar sausages, mulled wine, yummy! SmugMug > popular today > "Ocean Boulevard" Day 277, Saturday, December 5 This was my Friday. It was still cloudy, but I had to get a Daily. I decided to go to the local Amtrak Station, about 5 miles away and maybe capture a train. I took a few photos while I waited for a train to arrive. I was soon approached by a security guard and asked if I had permission to take pictures. I said no, and was asked to leave. I said something about America not being what it used to be and if I looked like a terrorist. He said something in response, but his English was so bad I couldn't understand. And I'm the one being asked to leave. So I decided to drive along Ocean Boulevard toward Palm Beach. That's where I passed this tree. The Atlantic Ocean is on the right and this "average" West Palm Beach mansion of the left. Ocean Boulevard is two narrow lanes with no room to stop..... so I drove around the block a couple of times to catch this.... As you can see, they need a scaffold to decorate the tree in their front yard. I drove the 4 miles to Worth Avenue... behind someone talking on the phone and doing 25 in a 35 zone, turned left away from the Ocean, passed the yachts and crossed the bridge to West Palm. Traffic was slow, I nearly got sideswiped.. and I was getting a headache because I haven't had any Mountain Dew in three days. Caffeine withdrawal....... I know.. not the worst day by any means, but this cloudy day would be enjoyed best..... at home. No terrorist there.... Norm This is my HOME PAGE This is my COMPLETE JOURNAL
