SmugMug > popular today > 1/06/10 Feathered Friend This stalwart friend paused to rest from the frenzy at the feeder during another recent snowfall. Our feathered friends need our help during this snowy winter here in Boston.
SmugMug > popular today > 07-28-2009 Celine is turning eleven today. She is the youngest of our six children. She is one of the most joyful souls I have ever encountered and I consider it a great privilege to hear her call me Mommy. She started calling me that when she was six. Her first Mommy was fighting breast cancer when Celine was born. And she fought it valiantly for another five years. When talking about saints and heaven one day, David told Celine that a person’s death is their birth into heaven. When Celine’s first Mommy was near death, David uttered in prayer the words “And grant Mommy a happy and peaceful death.” Celine did not let it go. “Daddy, don’t you mean birth?” David took that question to heart. So after Amy’s funeral, they had a birthday party. I did not know David at the time. But Celine’s joyful understanding of death has had quite an effect on our family. Since all six of our children have suffered the loss of a parent very early in their lives, we have followed Celine’s cue in how to give honor to their deceased parents. Each year, on the anniversaries of their “births in to heaven” we have a birthday cake in their honor and the kids blow out the candles. Celine, I’m so glad you are my little girl! And I want you to be there with me to celebrate my “birth into heaven” when my time comes. Happy birthday Celine. I love you so much! (Photo taken by Jacci.)

SmugMug > popular today > 01-06-2010: tea? maybe just a nice cup of tea today... temps are supposed to be in the 50's today for us. i know that's warm for many of you, but it's a little chilly for us. supposed to get a cold front.. maybe tomorrow.. to drop us down a bit.. oh no! the tea canister is part of an aluminum set.. coffee, sugar, flour... the tea is some sort of herbal, i think.. hump day... it's a busy one for me.. every day is busy, but today, i get to be busy in a few different locations.. y'all do something that makes you happy today.. maybe laugh a little..

Más información sobre costumbres y tradiciones del Día de Reyes en diferentes países, AQUI. Estas figuras de los Reyes las compramos en Aracena (Huelva) hace muchísimos años y, desde entonces, las tenemos en la ventana del comedor. La figura más alta tiene 27 cm. "Tomorrow is Three Kings Day" - Yes, tomorrow is the The Day of the Kings which, as you may know, is when we exchange gifts in Spain and marks the end of the Holiday Season. We purchased these figures pf the Kings in Aracena (Huelva - Spain) many many years ago and, since then, they have been sitting in our dining room window. The tallest figure is 27 cm high.
