SmugMug > popular today > Nov 15, 2009 "Loaner" (as distinct from "loner") Odd caption for a Cheetah perhaps, but tips you off to something else... one of the local camera stores in Denver held an event at Denver Zoo yesterday, loaning (for free) various cameras and lenses from a number of manufacturers. Since I am considering a new camera (a 7D or a 5D mk II) I took advantage of the event... they only had a 5D2 to loan but I sure did have fun with it (no manual, so many of my images were achieved after trial and error and lots of menu selectings)... Here's a heavily cropped shot of a Cheetah... very little done PP, just a tad bit of contrast is about all. Anyone got any input on 7D (crop) vs 5D2 (full frame)? please email me. Thanks! SmugMug > popular today > November 15 2009 - Don't pixel peep at this shot. I am not sure whether it was the rain, the wind, or I should had a tripod to set up this shot. It is definitely not as sharp as I would want. Bummer. Such is life. Maybe next time. This is shrub at the beach. We are still being pounded by Hurricane Ida that came up the east coast. Surfer's were out in six to ten foot swells. Brr. Too cold for me.

If not heres the scoop. 1 SB 800 speed light set to full power left of the subject at 12 ft. and another to the right also at 12 ft full power, no light modifiers. f/8 for proper exposure of the subject. Camera sinks at 1/500 , adjusted shutter speed to darken the background. Lights triggered with radio triggers.
