SmugMug > popular today > 88/365 Seaside State Beach, Sand City, CA. Monterey Bay. June 2009. Years ago, I was on a field trip with one of my kids at Lover's Point Beach in Pacific Grove. The teacher warned the kids NOT to feed the seagulls, because if they did there would be 1000's of seagulls flying around and someone would be pooped on. I was watching the six kindergartners assigned to me, not letting a crumb fall on the ground... when suddenly a cloud of seagulls darkened the sky and they began swooping down on us. I felt something hit my head and.... ewwww yuck.... I still get a creepy crawly feeling just thinking about it..... not as bad as Dedman's experience, but when I see seagulls flying, I put on a hat. Quite an accomplishment to pooop and fly at the same time. I have had a crazy, frustrating week. Last night I felt near exhaustion and melt down. Went to bed early. Woke up at 2am.... maybe I can sleep now. I start jury duty today. I have a position paper due for a class, then the final online lecture, discussion and quiz.... and then the class final to take before Sunday at midnight.... then studying for my German Final on Monday. Sometimes, I feel too old to be a student. Sometimes I feel too old to be raising a 7-year old. I may not have a lot of time to comment here until Monday after 5pm.....I will survive. I always do. Thank you to those who have commented on my daily lately--even though I have not commented on very many pics.
