Mom and Gabe having a Popsicle.

Went to the Neurologist on Tuesday. I really, really liked him. Mom's gotta have tests done of course but I was expecting that. He think she has had a stroke. Probably when she had that pacemaker put in and it follows along with the time line I felt the changes coming on.

Eye-opening Treat and Eco-friendly!

Adrienne (on right) and Rocky (uh, left) were brought out tonight for a preliminary test shot. Adrienne (my little gal) is normally my screen queen as she is so accommodating when it comes to my bizarre demands. Rocky knows he's a frog and pees on me all the time and wants to jump at every opportunity! When there's a mutt kitty in the studio [uh, dining room (Six)], that can be dangerous! The froggy spray bottle becomes a Six deterrent at that point.

Neither of these little froggies were 'clean' for the shot. As I was setting angles, it didn't really matter (I would never use a flash on-camera for a shot like this). Adrienne even took to jumping tonight (I didn't think she was capable) as Rocky wanted to jump to any other surface besides the cup! I will need a lab assistant for this one (I'll get my agent/daughter to help)! Rocky also gets bored within 30 seconds and falls asleep! I need an assistant to tickle his nose to keep him awake.

This is going to the PR folks at Starbucks (they are expecting it at this point) so it has to be perfect! It will take hours to get it right (or, at least hours of shooting to make sure it's right). The second photo they want is of little Adrienne/Rocky babies hanging on, as well, to send the message that they have plenty available for the little ones too. Yep, I've actually researched Red-Eyed Tree Frog husbandry and baby care! I will ensure the babies grow up to be productive (handled and photogenic) offspring of Adrienne.

The Red-Eyed Tree Frog has become a spokes-symbol for environmentalism even though it is hardy and not endangered. It has big, recognizable eyes, which is a young mammal attribute (making them more adorable to folks). Kittens, puppies, and human babies have much larger eyes (proportion-wise when compared to their adults) and this is an AWE factor. This is often attributed to an evolutionary survival technique (adults can recognize the young and protect them from predators).

Okay, this has turned into a blog-event again. Sorry! But, if I ever get Balboa eggs, you will be the first to see them!

PS: Even though I would normally refrigerate cold-blooded creatures to ensure they won't move during a shoot, these frogs are sensitive, tropical creatures and, since I don't know if they could survive the lower temps, I would never try this. Adrienne has survived much lower temps as she was brought to me as a found critter after a night of 37°. I love these guys and would NEVER cause them any discomfort (of course, to Rocky, everything I do is a discomfort).
