SmugMug > popular today > 21.11.09 - Green Screen This is a sneak preview from the American Gothic shoot today, the latest project from the people who brought you The Lady of Shalott. It was all done against a green screen, with a digital backdrop to be added later. The shoot was a huge lot of fun, and another very different subject for me. Eventually I'll also add the background scene to the stills, but in the meantime I've got a lot of photos to process. I'll link to the finished film when it is ready, I think you'll enjoy it :)
SmugMug > popular today > November 21 Happy Belated Halloween!! In mid-October I took my 'portable portrait studio' to the Central Coast Feather Fanciers Annual Poultry Show. And I must say, we had a blast! The epitome of Work! Work! Work! Regarding my previous post: We were strolling through Carmel Village, after dark; the storefront window displays were fabulous! One of our favorites was a furniture and light fixtures shop, with VERY unique inventory! I was shooting through the glass, using my 18-200; zooming in on a portion of an incredible wall hanging, a portion of which is also lighting. In actuality, the portion in my post is @18" x 10", of a crescent moon, which is @ 8" in front of a fabulous sun, with rays and a face. The sun is not lit. It has a big open smile mouth, with these glass spheres pouring forth out of the mouth. I loved how the light and camera settings didn't allow visibility of the sun. The entire wall hanging is fairly round, with a diameter of @5-6ft. Thank you for the compliments and the welcome backs & missed yous! Gave me the warm fuzzies!
SmugMug > popular today > Holed Tree I saw this tree while out on Surrender Field and I walked into the woods to get a better shot. The sun was going down and the light was almost gone so I jumped the ISO up and spot metered on the tree. These holes were everywhere on the tree. Not really sure what they were, but very different. It figures too that when I walked in I would have the wrong lens on the camera. I did the best I could with the shot as the light was gone when I finished. This was the best of the lot I took. Not an HDR, just metered for the dark area and blew out the sky. Have a great day
SmugMug > popular today > 11-22-2009 A real smug mug for SmugMug :D Dominic and Andrew tested yesterday for their 2nd degree black belts. They don't have the results of their tests yet. But if this face is any indication of how Dominic did, I'd say he's getting the new rank. This shot was actually taken during the work out before the testing. The Master was playing around with the students and told them to "pose like this". So Dominic served up the pose...with a side of confidence. Picture taken by David. Post Processing done by Jacci. SmugMug > popular today > trip to the eye doc III a very nice lady I had met in the waiting room- this was her mom sitting next to her who had chronic eye problems- I'm thinking the daughter came in from st. thomas to take her mom- anyway, the circle of life- sorry kids, it may be your turn soon, but if you're lucky, it won't last long- your mom might kill me before then anyway-
