Before leaving for the gym today, my roommie said I that I looked like I belonged in jail. I thought I looked more French (hence the scarf for the photo).

Fast fwd to the gym, where I committed the ultimate graceful/comedy act of falling on the treadmill! A few treadmill burns, aches and bruises later (the main bruise was to my ego)....I now have my photo for the day. Sometimes the gym seems like jail and today I got a beatdown.

A couple of the burns can be seen on my left wrist.

Sometimes you just need a good scratch behind the ear. Lately Molly has been very cuddly but only on her terms. Which means when I'm trying to go to sleep or trying to use the sink in the bathroom. She curls up in the sink and waits for me to scratch her head.

I think the camera scares her when I put it in front of my face cause she bolts out of the room when I do that. So this picture was harder to get than you might think.

SmugMug > popular today > May 14, 2008: Abstract curves - This is a close up of my china pattern with a little zigzag added. The curves on my china are all smooth and circular - I liked that the zigzag added some angles.

Where has the time gone?

I've gotten a couple of real photography jobs lately and so I've been spending most my time practicing and boning up for them because they are all different...a wedding, a restaurant and a family portrait session with horses. YIPES

So, I was over at the restaurant on Sunday taking a few outdoor shots and I asked the owner/chef's daughter to help me out with the set up. She was very helpful and i couldn't resist taking this shot of her so serious with her assignment on the lovely patio. It won't work for their advertising campaign, but I hope it works for their family album.

I love candids.

This is a place near Ashland, Nebraska called the Israel Beetison house. Following is a blurb I found on the internet about it:

"The Israel Beetison House is one of the finest examples of the Italianate style in Nebraska, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The residence was constructed in 1874-75 of locally quarried limestone by the Dalton Brothers, local masons, and features a frame cupola on the main portion of the house that was built as a lookout for Indians, but ended up serving a quite different purpose altogether.

Israel Beetison was born in England in 1836 and came to Ashland, NE in 1859 from Massachusetts and settled his 160 homestead acres. He then returned to Massachusetts, married, and in the spring of 1867, returned to Ashland to live. Fourteen children were born to the Beetison's with only eight of them surviving to adulthood. Five generations of Beetison's lived in the house until its sale to Iron Horse Development in 1999."

(May 13) Do you think it was loud?
SmugMug > popular today > May 13, 2008 Daily Photo. Day 69. Trinity Church Wall Street. Built in 1846, this was at one time the tallest building in Manhattan. It's a little less tall, maybe three stories, than the building to the left of it in the photo.

None of the photos I took today came out sharp and I am not sure why. I put a couple in my runner's up if anyone cares to look and tell me why they came out kind of wavy. Also, the date & time are wrong in the camera info. This was taken today.

I seriously LOVE Spring! :-) Despite the allergies, the flowers and beautiful colors totally make up for it.
Saw this flower hanging around, standing out against hundreds of pansies. I just kept staring at it and then thought, 'Hey, wait! I have my camera!' ;-)
