I was looking for something different to photograph today and made a few stops in a small town not far from here as well as along the road. This caught my eye on the road but was surrounded by brush. It took me a few minutes to find a place to stop and not get hit at 55 miles an hour. This is a cropped section of the photo I took which can be seen here: http://fintonfamily.smugmug.com/gallery/5383800_AUmk5#366189663_d3uVQ I am guessing that it was once a genuinely functioning piece of farm type equipment, but now it has a forgotten and artistic feel. This is pretty much straight from the camera except for the crop. I would have enjoyed getting closer so as not to crop it as much but I was deterred by being at the side of the road, the brush, and the mud. It has been pretty rainy the last couple of days. As always, comments and helpful critiques are always welcome.

SmugMug > popular today > In addition to the dolphins, viewing alligators was another highlight of the trip. This gator pic was taken at the Stennis NASA Base.
SmugMug > popular today > This is my first photo in the Daily Photo pool, and also the first photo I took while out actually trying to take serious photos with my new XTi. As you can see from the big shadow, I have much to learn :)
